EMPLOYMENT
Freelance Web Developer
Self Employed, Modesto, California
August 2008 – Present
I worked primarily with my previous employer, Musician’s Friend, Inc. My job responsibilities are listed below.
Lead UX/UI Web Developer
Musician’s Friend, Inc. , Medford, Oregon
November 2005 – July 2008
Lead User Experience / User Interface web developer of a number of musical instrument retail websites. The job required knowledge of numerous client-side technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Flash and our own internal template language built on a Perl and Oracle backend. We also had to be knowledgeable of email client technologies to support our wide variety of weekly newsletters and promotions. We were responsible for all design decisions from the wireframes we created in Visio to the final client-side implementation. Graphics creation and functional mockups were also part of the daily routine; however I was primarily involved in design decisions and the HTML, CSS and JavaScript implementations of our mockups. We also contracted with a 3rd party developer that uses C# and .NET. My responsibilities in that area included the design and creation of XSL to be consumed by webservices and the maintenance of the ASP.NET web pages.
Web Designer/Developer
Travidia, Inc., Chico, California
March 2001 – February 2005
I was primarily responsible for User Interface Design and the maintenance of client websites. This included all changes and implementations of client facing webpages. I was originally hired as a web designer, but as my job progressed I learned to be proficient in ASP, VB Script and SQL Server. We transitioned to .NET in 2003, where I was responsible for graphics creation, design and implementation of client documents into functional websites. Our websites ran on the new C# platform backed by MS SQL. Specifically, I created C# and XSL documents that created the “look and feel” of the front end websites.
